Adventures in London: Nature and Culture

Weekly Update

Hooray, my craziest week has come to an end, and now I can look forward to holidays and fireworks!

❣️ For the first time in nearly a year of living in London, I spotted a fox in the morning light. At 8 AM, despite the number of dogs and people around, it strolled leisurely across the lawn.

❣️ Not far from us lived George Orwell his entire life, from birth until death. We went to see his house with the plaque (the house with the bushes is one of the neighbors).

❣️ On Friday, we celebrated Christmas at the tennis club. We played doubles first, then enjoyed mulled wine with mince pies, and later headed to a pub with a fireplace! The more I interact with the English, the more I marvel at how different people can be, simply because they grew up in different places around the world.

❣️ Over the weekend, we took a walk to Primrose Hill. It turns out we can easily reach it on foot! They have their own Saturday market there, and we even met a guy selling kombucha with a spelling mistake.

❣️ I’ve been on a photo hunt for this little, nimble bird for quite some time! It’s a robin, and in many ways, it is a symbol of the UK, often depicted on Christmas cards.
