Exploring Kent Downs Wildlife Wonders
Kent Downs National Landscape | Part 2
In addition to the pheasants, we encountered a large number of birds of prey, which might explain the dead pheasants we saw.
I even managed to identify one using our guidebook—it was a Red Kite! It flew so low that we could catch a glimpse of its coloration. Its unique tail shape is a clear giveaway, which is why it's called "Red Kite" in English.
We also stumbled upon a quirky little mushroom, the curly bracket fungus, and a beautiful burrow that looked like it belonged in a fairy tale!
Just before we left, we came across a wonderfully bizarre and atypical house.
Interestingly, in 2013, the town of Wye was named the third best place to live, according to readers of the Sunday Times.
