French Crowd Cheering for Bublik

The French were really cheering for Bublik! This was quite surprising considering he was playing against the Canadian Auger. The entire crowd was shouting, "MANIFIIIK, BUBLIK!!"

Next to me was a French guy who seemed to know a bit of Russian and kept yelling, "SASHA, LET'S GO!!" I joined in a couple of times, shouting, "Come on, Sasha!" A little later, he leaned over and quietly asked me:
