Grocery Haul Experience at Marks and Spencer

Unpacking My Marks & Spencer Grocery Haul🥬

When compared to Russian stores, M&S feels like the British version of a familiar grocery chain—somewhere in between a Перекрёсток and a Вкусвилла. It’s more upscale than Lidl and Пятёрочка, yet not quite at the level of Waitrose or Азбука Вкуса.

Not everything from my shopping list is available here, but it offers the kind of unique products that make me enjoy visiting physical stores. I was especially surprised by the price of eggs! But it seems this is part of a global trend.

What I love about M&S is the nostalgia it brings back from my student days. I remember a story shared on the "Подслушано МГУ" group on VKontakte—there was a girl during an exam who was struggling to recall the names of the two founders of Marxism. After some hints from the professor, she shyly mentioned “Spencer” as her answer.

It’s these little connections and memories that make shopping an experience rather than just a chore.
