Hiking the Kent Downs Landscape Adventure

Kent Downs National Landscape | Part 1

I think this is the perfect hike if you don’t have a car and want to avoid spending more than two hours on the road, but you still want to enjoy a good long walk — we covered 17 kilometers in 5.5 hours yesterday.

Ever since I became a member of the RSPB, I’ve been surrounded by bird themes. This place will be memorable for us, especially because of the pheasants! They’re quite skittish, and it was hard to get a good shot of them — only one just happened to turn out perfectly in a photo (though it’s not in this collection) 💀.

There were an unbelievable number of them. Interestingly, they’re not included in our Bird Guide because they are domesticated birds.

The route starts right from the Wye train station. One aspect I love about local routes on Komoot is that they all end near pubs!
