Job Applications and Cozy Discoveries
Weekly Updates
💞 I sent out over 120 applications this week, including my dream job as a Communications Coordinator at Wimbledon. I do wish I hadn’t rushed it and had included more than what was asked of me. Today, I’ll brainstorm ways to strengthen my applications and consider what additional steps I can take.
💞 Lucy and I discovered a new coffee shop called 1930, opened by Rinat from Makhachkala. It was incredibly welcoming, and they treated us to Belgian chocolate! Lucy spent her time there greeting guests with a warm smile.
💞 At home, we finally have a wool blanket for the fall. How did I live without it for so long? Clearly, everyone loves it! I also planted a new Aspidistra. So far, I’m the only one who seems to appreciate it.
💞 I’ve been watching the hilarious Netflix series 'Motherland' about British moms. One of the lead roles is played by Diane Morgan, who also starred in 'Cunk on Life' (King Arthur came a lot, didn’t he?).
💞 Finally made it to Kenwood House, where an intriguing exhibition is currently taking place. The painting 'Guitar Player' by Vermeer is on display; it's long been recognized as an original. The second painting, from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, was considered a copy for many years.
However, in 2023, it was suggested that the Philadelphia version might have been painted by the master himself. While museums await scientific results, you can check out both paintings and decide for yourself whether they’re two Vermeers or an original and a copy!
💞 Now, we have a portrait of King Charles watching over us at home (see him in the last photo). We’re making sure to behave ourselves—no accidents on the floor or around the litter box!
