Sahara Dust Cloud Sweeps London
Yesterday in London, the fog was incredibly thick from the early morning. But when it lingered throughout the day and evening, my husband and I started to suspect it might be smog.
It turned out to be even more interesting. London was enveloped by a dust cloud from the Sahara! Apparently, this is a fairly common occurrence in the UK.
In our area, nothing turned orange, so itβs hard to believe. Nevertheless, a friend's air quality monitor showed a sharp spike β the number of fine particles in the air increased several times.
Interestingly, a similar phenomenon happens regularly in the Krasnodar region! I remember seeing incredible footage a few years ago of ski slopes coated in orange dust.
