Treasured Keepsakes from Moscow to London
Unpacking from Moscow
💜 The Infinite Calendar. Let me start with the jewel of the haul. I'm so glad I didn't realize how huge and heavy it is. It's especially nice that my parents couldn’t say no to bringing it back for me!
💜 Grandma’s Portrait and Brooch. I have a touching story connected to this photo and brooch, and now they’ll finally be with me in London. I’ve found the perfect spot to hang them—I’ll share it with you soon!
💜 A Postcard. My little sister sent me a postcard featuring mom’s hydrangea. It’ll bloom alongside me in London. She drew it herself!
💜 A Shopper Full of Gifts. My older sister and her husband sent a whole shopper filled with items. We particularly loved the city exploration card game, Digidi. Just what we need in a new place!
💜 Books from МИФ. Three books in Russian! I specifically chose those that aren’t originally written in English.
💜 A Hair Dryer Attachment. I love that I can now buy a separate attachment for curling hair—definitely a win!
💜 Periodicals. Finally, new albums reached us! I’ve created one just for weddings and I’m continuing our tradition of an annual album.
💜 Sheep Wool Slippers. A gift from Mom and Dad! We’re waiting for the cold, but the pets have already given them a thumbs up.
💜 A Mug. Our family friends gave me a cute mug with a hedgehog! I used to collect hedgehogs in my youth—I had dozens of them.
💜 A Poster of "Rosetka and Coffee." My all-time favorite café in Moscow, no matter what happens.
💜 A Kombucha. The very DIY I mentioned! I can’t help but note the telepathic connection I have with my mom. The day before they arrived, I remembered that I hadn’t ordered kombucha and felt so disappointed. I didn’t mention it to my parents. As it turned out, my mom had already arranged it as a surprise for me!
There were also some fish delicacies, but they didn’t last long enough for me to include them in this post.
Our mission was to help my parents clear out space so they could fill their home with more goodies.
Mission complete!
